| 5 | NOTE FOR SER ITEM NO 3 & 4 :- (i) Making good edges of joints shall be done with hand-held cutters. (ii) Diameter of the backup rod shall be 20-25% more than the width of joints to ensure a tight fit. (iii) Entire polyurethane joint filling shall be done with mechanical systems using a claucking gun/applicator gun. (iv) At places if the mechanical appliances become impractical GE's permission in writing shall be obtained for carrying out the joints filling manually. (v) The work shall be got executed through the authorised applicator of the manufacturer. (vi) The unit rate quoted shall be deemed to include for any excess width of the joints formed during cutting made good by the contractor. (vii) Masking tape shall be used duting filling of PU joints to avoid over flowing of PU material and ensure joint finishes. |
