1 | (I) DETERMINATION OF SAFE BEARING CAPACITY BY SPT METHOD AS DESCRIBED BELOW:- (a) Drilling 100 to 150mm diameter boreholes from 0 to 15mtr depth accoring to IS 1892-1983 for 01x Igloo (b) Conducting standard penetration test (SPT) as per IS 2131-1988. The testing shall be made at every change in strata at the intervals of not more than 0.50 mtr whichever is less. The test may be made at lesser intervals if specified or considered necessary as per para 3.3.1 of IS- 2131-1988.(c) Collection of disturbed soil samples at an interval of 0.50mtr or change in strata. (d) Collection of undisturbed soil samples at an interval of 0.50mtr or change strata. (e) Conducting laboratory tests on disturbed/undisturbed soil samples as per project requirement after completion of boring as given below:-(i) Sieve analysis (ii) Plasticity index (iii) Specific gravity (iv) Water Content (v) Particle size analysis (vi) Bulk and dry density (vii) Atterberg limit (viii) Harmful salt or organic matter if any (ix) Direct shear test (if in case of sandy soil) (x) Unconfined un-drained test (in case of clayer soil) (xi) Consolidation test (for saturated soil) (xii) 'C' Values (xiii) Differential swell test in case of expansive soil (xiv) Unconfined compressive strength of rock (in case of rocky strata) (xv) Determination of tensile/shear strength of rock (in case of rocky strata) (quality index for rocky strata in case of rocky strata). In case rock is encountered, the boring shall continue upto 1.50 to 2.00 mtr in rock.Recommended SBC should be given for all bore holes, minimum at three depths viz 1.5m, 2.0m, 2.50m Soil investigation report shall be submitted covering the following :- Note 1A :- (a) Bore log chart showing depth of soil strata (b) Sub soil water table (c) Porable maximum and different settlement (d) safe bearing capacity based on shear and settlement criteria (e) Recommendation for type and depth of buildings (f) Site plan building wise RL of buildings (g) Bearing capacity and depth of Fdn wrt FFL/Fixed Bench Mark Note 1B :- (a) The location of bldg/bores shall be given by GE (b) The soil report shall be in 3 parts (i) Field Operations (ii) Lab testing and sub soil properties (iii) Fdn consideration and recommendation for single, double & three story bldg (isolated footing, combined footing, raft foundation & pile foundation (c) Value of modulus of soil sub grade reaction for each location. The report shall be submitted in quintuplicate to this office. Note 2 :- The report should be the following :- (a) The soil Investigation activity of each bore hole will be recorded photographically. (b) Soft copy (CD) containing folder-wise photographs and videos of soil investigation activity for each bore hole should be included. (c) Each report should include signatures and name of the JE-in-Charge who supervised on ground, concered AGE & AGE (I) on the recommendation page. | 4 | Nos |
